Devils Defeat Bruins 4-0, Clinch Pac-10 Title Outright

Since our broadcast was shortened by rare Arizona rain, as promised here's your final score and notes from tonight's Baseball game.

Mike Leake went the distance for the fourth straight game, recording his second consecutive complete-game shutout to go to 14-1 on the season, 9-0 against the Pac-10. He struck out twelve batters and walked none, sprinkling four hits. He needed just 99 pitches, an average of just 11 per inning. In the sixth inning, perhaps his best, he struck out the side on just 12 pitches.

All the offense Leake would need came from Jared McDonald in the fifth inning, when he launched a solo shot over Rick Monday's #27 in right-center field. McDonald's blast followed a towering fly-out by Zach Wilson that would have landed on or over Rural Road if not for a brisk wind blowing in from the outfield.

The Devils would add another run without the benefit of a hit in the sixth, when Carlos Ramirez walked, stole second (just his second steal of the season), advanced to third on a wild pitch, and then scored on a groundout by Riccio Torrez.

Matt Newman would finish the scoring with a two-run homer in the eighth that brought in Torrez, who had walked.

Weather permitting, tomorrow's game will be LIVE right here on The Blaze. Jason Chacon and Adam Ostrow will bring you the call, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 PM.

Kick Ass Spring Concert feat. What Laura Says & Matthew Reveles

It's that time of year again!

The Blaze 1260 AM is hosting its annual Kick Ass Spring Concert, a play on our call letters KASC.

This year we're very excited to have both What Laura Says and Matthew Reveles, two of our station's long-time favorite acts.

Music is starting up at 11:30AM on Hayden Lawn, just north of Hayden Library and will end at 1PM.

We'll have tons of giveaways, including gift cards to Changing Hands Bookstore, posters, stickers, EPs, and chances to win tickets to see either Dave Matthews Band, Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction, Def Leppard with Cheap Trick and Poison, Brian Regan, or No Doubt, and it's going to kick ass, obviously.

As always, be sure to tune in to The Blaze 1260 AM, 'cause we're you're best station for local music!

See y'all there!
